A Journey from Intern to Owner

From a young age, I’ve been connected to the world of gymnastics — first as a gymnast myself, and later as a coach. The passion and love I developed for the sport led me to choose the Sports Science program at the University of Applied Sciences in Haarlem. During my Sports Science studies, I landed an internship at The Little Gym Amsterdam. This internship allowed me to perfectly combine my passion for gymnastics with my growing interest in child development.

After completing my internship, I was so impressed by the approach and philosophy of The Little Gym that I was eager to continue working there. I increasingly understood the incredible value this program offers to families. Not only do children gain more confidence, but they also build a strong foundation for any sport they may pursue in the future. I also met so many grateful parents who clearly saw the results of our program in their children’s social, cognitive, and physical development.

I continued working at The Little Gym alongside my studies. What started as a part-time job quickly turned into a full-time position once I graduated. A few years later, I had the opportunity to grow into the role of Program Director — a management position focused on lesson quality and team development. From there, I advanced to the role of Gym Director, where I gained valuable experience in the business and administrative side of The Little Gym.
Then came an unexpected conversation with Peter Paul: he asked if I would be interested in running the location. The more I thought about it, the more excited I became. During my pregnancy, I made the decision — and now, together with Peter Paul, I’m the proud owner of The Little Gym Amsterdam!
